DL Methionine feed grade Unisplendour Methionine

Methionine is an essential amino acid in all animal species. Methionine is clearly recognised as the first limiting amino acid in poultry, and probably also in high-yielding cows, and as the second or third limiting amino acid in pigs fed conventional diets. Supplementation of appropriate amounts of methionine and methionine analogues to meet requirements is safe for the target species. The earliest signs of a critical overdose are reduced feed intake and weight gain. The level of supplementary methionine and its analogues that is toxic varies from species to species and depends on the basal diet and its content of sulphur-containing amino acids.
Methionine from DL-Met and its hydroxy analogue and their salts is incorporated in the protein of tissues and products, showing a constant amino acid pattern. Consequently, the use of these additives will not result in an increased methionine content in tissues and products. Doses exceeding the requirement will be excreted.

Residues present in the animal tissues and products resulting from the extremely small quantities of free styrene and 2-vinylpyridine found in DL-Met-cop are very unlikely to raise concerns about consumer safety.

None of the products are considered to present a significant inhalation risk. DL-Met, DL-Met-cop and DL-Met-ec are considered non-irritant to skin and eyes, and the lack of sensitisation potential demonstrated for DL-Met is considered to apply also to DL-Met-cop and DL-Met-ec. DL-Met-Na is considered corrosive to skin and eyes and harmful if swallowed. HMTBa is an irritant to the skin and corrosive to the eyes but is not a dermal sensitiser. HMTBa-Ca is irritant to the eyes but not to the skin. The absence of a dermal sensitisation potential demonstrated for HMTBa is considered to apply also to HMTBa-Ca. HMTB-i is non irritant to the skin and eyes, and it is not a dermal sensitiser.

Amino acids and intestinal health

Methionine, DL Methionine, L Methionine

L-methionine is usually isolated from the DL-methionine produced .

This is done with an isolated enzyme of microbial origin. The enzyme attaches to L-methionine. This specificity allows the two to be separated by ordinary chemical means. The enzyme is the treated (I’m thinking with acid base chemistry) to release the L-methionine product. The enzyme is re-usable.
The D-methionine half (which may be altered by the isolation process) can be used as for whatever purpose or destroyed. There are methods to convert D-methionine to DL-methionine again (to be added back into the previous separation process),  L-methionine could also be converted to DL-methionine. That conversion is not 100% racemic yield.

On the industrial plant equipment level this operation is not costly to invest in, by any means. Nor is it energy intensive. It is not labor intensive. It is a process that has been in place on the industrial level for some time.
At quoted prices, L-methionine will likely cost twice as much because it comes from DL-methionine.

L-methionine is the only assimilable isomer that does not require an unnatural conversion, over excretion, or, execrative metabolism. D-methionine may become involved preliminarily in some simple metabolic processes. It may be integrated accidentally into proteins, in effect denaturing those proteins to varying degrees.

Exactly how D-methionine is handled by mammalian systems is not of scientific importance because naturally it would never happen.
Biological and medical science would be very interested in how L-methionine is utilized because it is involved as a critical process. SAMe is a common derivative.

What are amino acids?


Twenty percent of the human body is made up of protein. Protein plays a crucial role in almost all biological processes and amino acids are the building blocks of it.

A large proportion of our cells, muscles and tissue is made up of amino acids, meaning they carry out many important bodily functions, such as giving cells their structure. They also play a key role in the transport and the storage of nutrients. Amino acids have an influence on the function of organs, glands, tendons and arteries. They are furthermore essential for healing wounds and repairing tissue, especially in the muscles, bones, skin and hair as well as for the removal of all kinds of waste deposits produced in connection with the metabolism.

The importance of amino acids for human well-being is on the increase

Meirion Jones, a well-known BBC journalist, reported that contrary to years ago, many doctors have now confirmed that a supply of amino acids (also by way of nutritional supplements) can have positive effects.

Jones and Erdmann explain the changes in medical opinion in the following way: “Unfortunately, in the real world countless factors are working to prevent our bodies from receiving a full and balanced supply of these all-important substances. A recent study from Germany carried out by the DAK has revealed that older people in particular are more prone to suffering from malnutrition. “If the body is lacking in the minimum energy and nutrients, the body cannot carry out its bodily and mental functions. Without the necessary vitamins, proteins (amino acids), trace elements and minerals, there is a risk of debilities and metabolic disorders which can have serious consequences.”

The amino acid pool has to be right

Jones believes that almost every disease caused by civilisation is a result of imbalances in our metabolism. The amino-acid pool is jointly responsible for achieving a balanced metabolism.

The amino acid pool describes the entire amount of available free amino acids in the human body. The size of the pool amounts to around 120 to 130 grams in an adult male. If we consume protein in the diet, the protein in the gastro-intestinal tract is broken down into the individual amino acids and then put back together again as new protein. This complex biological process is called protein biosynthesis. The entire amino acid pool is transformed, or ‘exchanged’ three to four times a day. This means that the body has to be supplied with more amino acids, partly by protein biosynthesis, partly by the diet or through consumption of suitable dietary supplements.

The objective is that the amino acid pool is complete and maintained in the correct combination. If the one or more amino acids are not available in sufficient quantities, the production of protein is weakened and the metabolism may only function in a limited way.

Older people are not the only ones who this applies to, for young people can also be affected by the negative consequences of a limited supply of nutrients. These include weight problems, hair loss, skin problems, sleep disorders, mood swings and/or erectile disorders but also arthritis, diabetes, cardiovascular imbalance (high cholesterol levels, high blood pressure) or even menopausal complaints.

The concept of ideal protein


Amino acids which are essential cannot be synthesized by the animal and therefore must be provided by the diet. When the supply of one of these essential amino acids does not meet the animal’s requirement for this amino acid, it is said to be limiting. This limiting amino acid is limiting the potential growth of the animal. Once the limiting amino acid is covered via the feed, the next amino acid will become limiting (second limiting amino acid, third limiting amino acid, etc). Therefore the goal is to know the exact requirement of the animal for every essential amino acid in order to supply this amount to the animal via the diet. This is what is called the ideal protein concept. In practical diets, lysine is the first limiting amino acid. Therefore we always express the requirement of all essential amino acids as a ratio to lysine.


Amino acids can be supplied by the diet via feedstuffs (cereals, soybean meal, etc). The amino acid pattern (ratio of essential amino acids to lysine) in protein feedstuffs is not exactly in line with the requirement of the animal (the ideal protein). Protein feedstuffs are too low in the first limiting amino acids. If we would supply all essential amino acids via raw materials we would have to supply very high levels of crude protein. Because not all protein will be used, the surplus will be excreted by the animal. This surplus of protein has a negative impact on the animal’s health (surplus protein will be used by pathogenic bacteria in the large intestine and can cause intestinal disorders) and has a negative impact on the environment (nitrogen excretion).

Amino acids are usually used in livestock feed additive, especially in the developmental stages of young animals, and sheep and other ruminants can use amino acids since the microbial synthesis,  there is no distinguish between amino acids and non-limiting limiting , generally do not use amino acid feed additive.  It is still controversial for Aquatic animal utilization of chemical synthesis of amino acids , therefore, It is better to carefull use aquatic feed.

3. During the use of amino acids in the feed, it should first consider the first limiting amino acid, and then turn to consider other limiting amino acids. Because there is a feature for animals use of amino acids that only the first limiting amino acids are satisfied, the second and the other limiting amino acids can get a better use. The first limiting amino acid lysine in pigs, the second limiting amino acid methionine; and the first limiting amino acid methionine chickens and other poultry, the second limiting amino acid lysine.

Identify  methionine by sensory:

1. True Methionine occurs white or light yellow crystalline powder with reflective, but false methionine occurs yellow or gray, little crystalline;
2. True methionine occurs special smell, false methionine smells not pure;
3. True methionine tastes slightly sweet, non-astringent sense; Adulteration of non-sweet smell while having impurities feeling;
4. pure methionine touch creamy texture, fake feel more rough;
5. hydroxysteroid methionine is a brown powder or granular, with hydroxyl group special smell.
6. aluminum products or plastic spoon inserted into methionine feed, a few turns out, there is static,  but fake not.
7. A small sample was added into 100ML water, stirred five seconds and stand, true methionine can be completely dissolved, if not, fake methionine.

Metionina

En su forma natural la L-metionina es un aminoácido proteinogenico. Es uno de los aminoácidos esenciales y no puede ser sintetizados por el propio organismo. Por lo tanto, su ingesta adecuada a través de la dieta o mediante los suplementos alimenticios es de crucial importancia.

Compuestos de azufre están presentes en todos los seres vivos y tienen una variedad de funciones. Junto a la cisteína, la metionina es el único aminoácido con contenido de azufre, por ello la metionina juega un papel importante en la síntesis de muchas proteínas importantes, como la carnitina o la melatonina, igualmente interviene en la disoluciónde grasa y limita la acumulación de grasa en el hígado.

La metionina es una sustancia importante para la formación del cartílago

Para su formación el cartilago de las articulaciones necesita azufre. En el caso de que en el organismo tengamos poca disponibilidad de azufre, no existe ningún problema a largo plazo para las personas sanas, pero en las personas que sufren de artrosis, una deficiencia de azufre, sin embargo, puede tener un efecto negativo en el comienzo de la enfermedad, especialmente en el proceso de curación del tejido dañado.

En investigaciones recientes se ha demostrado que el cartílago de las personas sanas posee aproximadamente tres veces más azufre que el cartílago de los pacientes con artrosis. Otro problema es que muchos fármacos forman sulfato, es decir, las sales del ácido sulfúrico. Esta es también la razón por la que la demanda de azufre para los pacientes con artritis es particularmente alta.

Ahora bien, no se puede tomar «azufre» tan fácilmente en forma de suplemento nutricional; por ello lo aconsejable es tomar el aminoácido metionina, que especialmente en combinación con las vitaminas B, puede formar casi todos los compuestos que contienen azufre. Y por ello la metionina es de especial importancia para los siguientes tres casos: reduce la inflamación, es calmante y estimula la formación de las células del cartílago.

La metionina fortalece las uñas y nos ayuda contra la caída del cabello

Debido a su capacidad para formar cadenas que contienen azufre, que a su vez se conectan entre sí, la metionina es capaz de fortalecer la estructura del cabello y las uñas.En 2006, en el marco de un congreso dermatológico realizado en Florencia, se publicaron los resultados de un estudio en el que participaron pacientes con alopecia, en el mismo se pudo comprobar que la cantidad de cabellos que se encontraban en la fase de crecimiento dentro del grupo que consumía un combinado de aminoácidos y vitaminas del grupo B eran significativamente más altas que la del grupo control (placebo).

During raising animals, farmers take care animal baby carefully, not only animal accommodation, daily diet, loss of appetite. So as a feed additive, synthetic amino acids can improve the quality of livestock and poultry, lysine added into broiler diets can improve meat quality. So,what are tips can be noticed in fed animals by feed grade methionine?

Common sense for feed grade methionine: Broiler adds 0.1 to 2.5%,hens adds 0.1 to 0.2%, egg preliminary 0.1% from 0.05% late egg, it is preferable to add 3 to 5% into chicken feed with beef tallow, lard, Soybean oil (7300,46.00,0.63%) and other fats. In pigs feed, methionine takes 50%  percentage of lysine, but, in broiler hens feed, it is necessary to add sufficient methionine. If soy meal (4552,2.00,0.04%) substituted by rapeseed cake(5160,46.00,0.90%), cotton seed cake , the amount of lysine will be increased by 20%; If soybean meal (3645, 18.00,0.50%) is substituted by fishmeal , the amount of lysine can be reduced by 20%.  During design formula for pigs feed, it is import to consider the breed of pig, different stages and  varieties of feed raw materials, in order to obtain a better feed efficiency.

Methionine Applied in Animal Production


Methionine is essential amino acids in animal, it plays an import role in poultry growth. Now, we are talking about Methionine Applied in Animal Production.


1. Application of laying hens

Methionine have a good preventive effect on heat stress on laying hens . In summer put zinc methionine into hens diets supplemented with 200mg / kg, test confirmed that 200mg / kg zinc methionine  can enhance immunity and anti-stress capability for chicken, promote appetite, reducing egg broken, enhancing eggshell thickness, improve egg weight, egg production, feed efficiency and economic benefits.

2. Application of swine production

Zinc methionine, as a organic zinc with high bioavailability, has also been a certain application  in pig production. Effect of zinc methionine on growth performance, the results showed that dietary supplemented of zinc methionine 300,350,400mg / kg treatment group compared with daily intake 40mg / kg group, the control group was up 21%, 22.2%, 21.2% . And diarrhea rate three experimental groups compared with the control group were significantly different. Wang Naiying (1996) reported, adding fattening dietary zinc methionine, average daily gain of 9.7%, 3.3% and feed efficiency, and its slaughter rate and lean meat were increased.

3. Application in Ruminant Production

Because zinc methionine holds chemical stability, biological titer, digestible absorption, interference, toxicity characteristics, while its rumen function, it  prevents the degradation of rumen microbial methionine, but also to avoid the metal elemental zinc toxicity on rumen microorganisms and methionine zinc chelate and after reducing the amount of ammonia decomposition, to reduce intermediate links, thereby increasing the absorption of blood and protein content of amino acids, beneficial to ruminant production performance of the play.


Zinc methionine has obviously effect in terms of biological potency, stability, performance, or promote, disease treatment and prevention aspects of animal production than other forms of zinc source. In summary, adding zinc methionine for pigs, chickens, ruminant diets after, economic efficiency is very significant enhanced. We should rational use of zinc methionine based on the breeding characteristics of science in the future, it can obtain a more considerable economic benefits in animal husbandry .

Low-protein amino acid–supplemented diets for growing pigs: Effect on expression of amino acid transporters, serum concentration, performance, and carcass composition


Pigs fed protein-bound AA appear to have a higher abundance of AA transporters for their absorption in the jejunum compared with the duodenum. However, there is limited data about the effect of dietary free AA, readily available in the duodenum, on the duodenal abundance of AA transporters and its impact on pig performance. Forty-eight pigs (24.3 kg initial BW) distributed in 4 treatments were used to evaluate the effect of the CP level and form (free vs. protein bound) in which AA are added to diets on the expression of AA transporters in the 3 small intestine segments, serum concentration of AA, and performance. Dietary treatments based on wheat and soybean meal (SBM) were 1) low-CP (14%) diet supplemented with l-Lys, l-Thr, dl-Met, l-Leu, l-Ile, l-Val, l-His, l-Trp, and l-Phe (LPAA); 2) as in the LPAA but with added l-Gly as a N source (LPAA+N); 3) intermediate CP content (16%) supplemented with l-Lys HCl, l-Thr, and dl-Met (MPAA); and 4) high-CP (22%) diet (HP) without free AA. At the end of the experiment, 8 pigs from LPAA and HP were sacrificed to collect intestinal mucosa and blood samples and to dissect the carcasses. There were no differences in ADG, ADFI, G:F, and weights of carcass components and some visceral organs between treatments. Weights of the large intestine and kidney were higher in HP pigs (P < 0.01). Expression of b0,+ in the duodenum was higher in pigs fed the LPAA compared with the HP diet (P = 0.036) but there was no difference in the jejunum and ileum. In the ileum, y+ L expression tended to be higher in pigs fed the LPAA diet (P = 0.098). Expression of b0,+ in LPAA pigs did not differ between the duodenum and the jejunum, but in HP pigs, the expression of all AA transporters was higher in the jejunum than in the duodenum or ileum (P < 0.05). The serum concentration of Arg, His, Ile, Leu, Phe, and Val was higher but serum Lys and Met were lower in pigs fed the HP diet (P < 0.05). These results indicate that LPAA can substitute up to 8 percentage units of protein in HP wheat–SBM diets without affecting pig performance; nonessential N does not seem to be limiting in very low-protein wheat–SBM diets for growing pigs. Also, the inclusion of free AA in the diet appears to affect their serum concentration and the expression of the AA transporter b0,+ in the duodenum of pigs.

DL-Метионин

DL-метионин кормовой, применяемый в порошкообразной форме, почти в три раза эффективнее усваивается организмом, чем такой же препарат в жидком виде. Нехватка веществ, содержащихся в DL - метионине, приводит к снижению аппетита, атрофии мускулов, анемии, ожирению печени. В результате, резко падает показатель продуктивности и набор веса. DL Methionine is an essential amino acids that plays an important role in feed field. However, there is lots of fakes in methionine market. So, I would like to share some tips for your reference:

1.  Burn, do not leave residue, there is an smell of burnt feathers;

2.  Touch, there is a special smell methionine (hydroxysteroid special smell hydroxyl group) with true methionine;  a little sweet when taste, touched smothly not rough .

False methionine smell bad, such as ammonia or Aroma smell , feel rough, not creamy.

3. Dissolve: Take methionine around 1 gram , add distilled water 50 ml, stir gently, shaking, standing, solution clearly and no precipitation with real methionine; If not, it is false.

DL Methionine Introduction

Methionine,an important amino acid species of animal feed, is an essential feed additive added into animal feed, which helps animals grow rapidly in a short time. It saves about 40% of the feed. In particular, feed poultry feed, methionine is the first limiting amino acid. Lacking of methionine for animal  will cause dysplasia, weight loss, liver and kidney function decline, muscle atrophy, deterioration. 1kg methionine  added into animal feed is  equivalent 50kg nutritional value of the meal (added in an amount of 0.05% to 0.2%).

Established in 2009, Ningxia Unisplendour Tianhua Methionine Co.,Ltd also named Chongqing Unisplendour Tianhua Methionine Co.,Ltd before 2013 is located in Central Industrial Park, Zhongwei City Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, China and has been specializing in the research, production and sales of feed grade DL Methionine.
